Retro christmas gift tags free download

It is so much easier to punch holes in the gift tags before you add the glitter. I will be honest though- half the time I forget to do this until afterward and I am always kicking myself. I usually use a mini hole punch for these types of projects and love it. You can find mine here. I like how it feels nicer and cleaner, and maybe even a bit more professional.

I added German glass glitter to the edges of my Christmas gift tags and they are so sparkly and pretty in person. The glass glitter adds such great texture and dimension. You can see the tutorial, and read all about glass glitter info and tips in my post HERE. German glass glitter is probably my favorite type of glitter. It looks so sparkly and rich. To put on the glitter, I first put a line of tacky glue on a piece of card stock paper.

I very lightly dipped each edge of the tag into the glue and then into the glitter. I wanted a fairly thin line of glitter for a more delicate look, but you can go as heavy as you like. Because there is quite a variety in the gift tags, I found that some look better with silver glitter and others look better with gold.

However, if you only want to buy one type of German glass glitter, It is a bit pricey. Once the glitter was dry, I ran a piece of twine through the hole in each tag. This will allow me to tie the tags onto my packages. I especially like this twine from The Container Store. It comes in a range of colors: pink , charcoal , taupe , and sage. Thanks for being such a great fan. I hope your followers find them equally as nice as you say. Thanks a lot for the link love.
